I love how the experiences in your life change who you are. Anita tries so hard to be morally righteous, but since the Voodoo priestess she has made a few exceptions. What do you do when someone is threatening someones life? Stand there, watching to save your own. Or risk your own life in what seems to be a no win situation. Is it stupid to save yourself? Or, to idly standby when someone's in need? Jewish law says to save others unless your own life will be forfeited. All life is precious, but yours is the most precious. I've never heard of a specific law in any other religion, but maybe they exist. I use this debate when discussing the Holocaust, Russian pogroms, Rwanda, etc. It was interesting to see someone battle with the idea in a supernatural situation. I'd much prefer to study it in fiction than to have someone experience it first hand.
